First edition hardcover, published by Macmillan, 1925. Geography textbook with a focus on the importance of rivers on the local area's history and culture. Twelve rivers are profiled with a chapter devoted to each. Some of the rivers included in the book; Nile, Ganges, Amazon, Mississippi, St. Lawrence, Danube, Rhine, and five more. Also includes chapters on the various river types and river conservation. 204 pages with Index. Illustrated through the text with b&w photos and maps. 5-3/4" X 7-1/2. Green cloth covered cover boards with illustrated cover. No dust jacket. Cover boards are flat, some spots of edge wear to the head and heel of the spine and tips of the corners. Former owner's name ink stamped on the first flyleaf and title page - but no further writing or marks besides that. Binding is tight and square. This copy is not a library discard.
