London: William Blackwood and Sons, 1916. Leather. Good. 7" by 5". None. A collection of short stories including The Great Tab Dope: A Study in Staff Rides, The Sense of Touch, Sergeant Snodgrass, and The Culvert on the Summit. Ernest Swinton was a British Army Officer who was active in the adoption of the tank during World War I. He wrote several allegorical works of fiction on military themes. Full calf leather binding with gilt lettering to spine, gilt fore edge and marbled end papers. There is little wear to the extremities apart from some sunning to the spine. The binding is tight and firm and both covers are firmly attached. Internally the book is clean and bright apart from some isolated spots affecting the front and rear end papers in particular. Good
