About This Item
Lyle Stuart, New York, 1969 VG/GOOD+. dj shows rubbing, creasing and some small splits to edges. the rear inner return flap is detached but laid in - a simple tape needed to re-attach. no significant faults with book. no inscriptions or marginalia. Because of Fox we have freedom of the screen, won in a memorable court decision which crushed the monopoly of the Motion Pictures Patents Company. At one point Fox owed the banks and the American Telephone and Telegraphy Company one hundred million dollars. He defied the Establishment and battled its lawyers until the wolves of Wall Street chased the exhausted and bankrupt Fox into a Pennsylvania penitentiary, where he was a prisoner for a year and a day
