"The Greco-Turkish War of 1897, also called the Thirty Days' War and known in Greece as the Black '97 or the Unfortunate War, was a war fought between the Kingdom of Greece and Ottoman Empire. Its immediate cause was the question over the status of the Ottoman province of Crete, whose Greek majority long desired union with Greece. Despite a decisive Ottoman military victory, an autonomous Cretan State under Ottoman suzerainty was established the following year (as a result of the intervention of the Great Powers after the war), with Prince George of Greece and Denmark as its first High Commissioner. Alexander Neville was a 16th-century scholar known for his studies in antiquities. His portfolio of works isn't as extensive as other English scholars from this era; however, his work 'Furoribus Norfolcensium Ketto Duce' is considered the best work on Kett's Rebellion of 1549.
Kett's Rebellion took place in Norfolk, when Edward VI's forces suppressed Robert Kett and his rebels who were destroying fences of wealthy property owners. Neville frustrated many Welsh readers who took offense to Neville calling Welsh soldiers 'lazy sheep'.

Condition notes: a clean copy, marred by six pages having red underlining (about two lines each). Slight rippling to dj, which also has a price sticker to front and is covered in mylar.
