Branagan St. James, Boston." otherwise clean and secure in original green cloth binding, decorative blindstamped, cloth worn at spine ends, spine darkened, corners rounded, scattered light foxing. Pagination inconsistent as described in listing OCLC 491407. This collection of political writings and patriotic and other poems concludes with an Appendix titled -- "Is The Scotch Union An Argument For The Irish Union!" John Cornelius O'Callaghan (1805 – 1883), born in Dublin, was an Irish lawyer, historian and political activist. He is best remembered for his work History of the Irish Brigades in the Service of France. He first started writing in the Comet and in the Irish Monthly Magazine of Politics and Literature. Shortly after the publication of this work, he returned to Dublin from London and contributed to the newly established periodical The Nation. .

At The Antiquarian Book Shop, located in Georgetown - an historic neighborhood of Washington, D.C. we have been buying, selling & appraising rare, interesting and scholarly books in Georgetown for more than 30 years.
