About This Item

US,12mo paperback Original,1st edn.[A small, low print run of the simultaneous HB issue in the US,adding to that issue's scarcity. The author's debut novel and it's first appearance in p/back form. (Ballantine Books 210.)] VG+. No owner inscrptn,no previous bookseller's inked price to covers, and no price removal (35c) to rear; though a British priced (2/6d,) small b/w adhesive label towards top, left- hand corner's edge to front, obscures part of publisher logo and probably the US$ price too.Bright, crisp, clean, sharp-cornered,glossy,colour pictorial artwork by Richard Powers, with b/w lettering to front, white lettering to blue spine, red+white lettering to rear which also states An Original novel and not a reprint; with negligible shelf-wear, bumping or creases to edges and corners - no nicks, tears or splits present. Some slight rubbing to rear wrap with some colour loss otherwise a very nice copy. All edges orange with no excessive blemish; contents bright, tight, clean, solid and sound - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners.US,12mo paperback Original,p/b 1st edn,1- 152pp [paginated] includes 27 chapters; plus [unpaginated] story preamble, title page,a dedication with blank reverse and to the rear,2pp publisher advert and tear-off order form.
Author's first, debut novel in book form and the first of many p/back entertainments he was to write over the years.Farmer is best known for his sequences of novels, especially the 'World of Tiers',1965-93 and the 'Riverworld', 1971-83) series.
The story of an Earthman escaping from captivity on an alien planet.
