Hardback – publisher's cloth with titles and decoration in gilt, in dustwrappers. pp. xvi, [1]-256, xix (index); xi, [257]-582, xix (index); plus b/w plates and fold-out maps. 10 x 6.5 in. approx. (250mm x 162mm).
Dustwrappers worn and marked, with some loss to volume one at head of spine and upper front corner. Cloth covers slightly spotted; endpapers foxed; heavy foxing/spotting to page edges; occasional foxing to pages throughout otherwise clean.
Nonetheless, showing wear commensurate with age and poor storage but otherwise in reasonably nice condition.
