About This Item

London: L. & J. Taylor, 1790. “New” (second) edition. 28 engraved plates plus frontispiece; bound in contemporary or early boards (probably French); small private library label on the upper board and ink notation at the top of the title page; upper left corner of the sheets waterstained; very good. While some of the plans for buildings, fountains and cascades are indeed grotesque, others are fanciful or exotic, including those for miniature mosques and minarets.
