Large, thick, heavy book, textured blue leather with ornate gilt lettering and border with wreath pattern to all of front and back, raised spine with bright gilt lettering, borders and wreath pattern, all edges bright gilt, blue satin sewn-in bookmark, satin finish inside covers and adjacent end papers, 575 pages, illustrations in shades of blue and white throughout, some full-page. Gilt is very slightly rubbed at places along pages' bottom edge. Very Good.
Synopsis
for the ceremonial guard see Guard of honour Guard of Honor is a Pulitzer Prize winning novel by James Gould Cozzens published in 1948. The novel is set during World War II, with most of the action occurring on or near a fictional Army Air Forces base in central Florida. The action occurs over a period of approximately 48 hours. The novel is chapterless in form, using three progressively longer parts entitled "Thursday", "Friday" and "Saturday".
