About This Item

New York & London: D. Appleton, 1929. The fourth book by Wagenknecht (1900-2004), who had a long and prolific career as an academic and literary critic of the "subjective" school. His book on Shaw has been reissued, but this is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First Edition. 128 pages (indexed, appendices), with 2 pages of publisher's adverts. Black cloth binding with blindstamped red lettering. Clean and bright text. Corners a bit worn and the very head of the spine has frayed.Tiny store sticker on front paste-down and a previous-owner signature on the FFEP. Front endpapers staring but holding. An influential work that is widely-held by institutions but is rather uncommon in the trade. No dustjacket. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good Minus/No Jacket.
