About This Item

Montreal: Lake Of the Woods Milling Company, Limited. Good+. ©1938. Revised Edition. Plastic comb binding. 192 p. 22 cm. Sound plastic comb binding in heavy cardstock covers. Creases to both covers. Rub wear to the edges and corners. A few faint soil spots. Previous owner's name in ink on front cover and again on title page. A small corner crease to bottom inside corner of the first page. Otherwise, the inside pages are clean and unmarked, remarkbly so for a cook book, and are lightly toned. The original coupons intended to be clipped to purchase the Five Roses cookbook are still in the book. Sub-title reads: "Being a Collection of Good Recipes carefully tested and approved by expert authority, under the supervision of Jean Brodie to which have been added recipes chosen from the contributions of over fifteen thousand users of Five Roses Flour throughout Canada, Together with many economical and time-saving cookery suggestions of value to the modern housekeeper". A classic Canadian cookbook by this Toronto based cooking writer. .
