The first edition of the work. Very scarce in any edition. Rebound in modern cloth. Endpapers and front blank have been renewed. Half title and rear blank retained.With a frontispiece and four further autotype portraits, twenty four photogravures and one colour map of the region. Collated complete.A very scarce account of the Duke of Clarence and Avondale's trip to Southern India, with a particular focus on his time in Hyderabad and shooting in Mysore and Travancore. Chapter four is written by G. P. Sanderson and contains a detailed description of their time elephant catching in Mysore. Sanderson was the Superintendent of Keddahs in Mysore. Rebound in modern cloth. Externally in lovely condition. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting and marginal age toning. Endpapers and blanks have been renewed. Evidence of worming to gutter of pages 178-202, not affecting the text. Very Good Indeed
