CENTENARY EDITION: In this book the author — a famous Greek scholar and artist, painter and cartoonist, politician and first director of the National Gallery of Greece — but above all an art critic, describes his impressions from a journey to Mount Athos in 1923 and at the same time he presents us the Eastern monasticism with aesthetic criteria. This new edition is published exactly one century after author's journey to Mount Athos.
The description today has a historical value too, since it has captured aspects of the monastic life that have been disappeared.
