About This Item

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1973. Herbert Lionel Mattews (1900-1977) reported to the New York Times from the field in Ethiopia, Spain, and Cuba. This is a Near Fine copy of the First Edition. Plum-colored cloth binding with gilt titles. Clean text; 276 pages, indexed. Illustrated with photographs; maps of Spain as decorative endpapers. Almost imperceptable bumps, else Fine. The dustjacket shows some edgewear, with creasing and chipping at the spine. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good.
