Originally published in the USA in 1947 - the author's first book, introducing Peter Chambers, sybarite, who drinks like a camel but holds his liquor like a revenue agent. Later republished as "Martinis and Murder". Crown 8vo (19cm). 160pp. Original pictorial wrappers - the artwork by the unmistakeable Denis McLoughlin; a little rubbed and worn; short splits; a serviceable copy. Just three copies of this edition (Bibliothèque Nationale, British Library, and Trinity College Dublin) located in major libraries worldwide. TVB Books 63.
