A history of Hampton Institute created for the benefit of Black students in Virginia together with a section of 50 slave and plantation songs. 255 pp. Illustrated with woodcuts. Library of Congress surplus copy with neatly removed spine label, library plate on endpaper, and "LC" perforation on title page. Cover is worn with cloth worn through ot corners and top 1/4" of spine cloth missing. First two pages creased full length. Two inch tear in fold-out frontis. A good usable copy. ; Ex-Library; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 255 pages .
