The first edition.A detailed handbook on Agra, the Taj, Sikandra, Fatehpur-Sikri, and the surrounding areas. Illustrated with a frontispiece, one folding plate, and sixteen plates.Collated, complete.Compiled by Ernest Binfield Havell, an arts administrator and historian.Four leaves of the 'Pall Mall Magazine' for September 1904 bound after page 84, comprising of 'The Lament of Shah Jehan'.Forty pages of adverts to the rear. In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with rubbing to the boards and spine. Light marks to the boards and spine. Faded ink to the tail of the spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities, with a small amount of loss to the head of the spine. Stamps and ink inscriptions to the front paste down and recto of the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with some scattered spots. Good
