Black cloth covered boards, gilt titling on front, blind stamped border on front and back, coloured end papers, black and white illustrations and diagrams, on last end paper is a book plate of " W.R. Loftus, Manufacturer of Hydrometers, Saccharometers, Gauging Rules, Bottling and Corking Machines, and Every Utensil for the Wine, Spirit, and Brewing Trades, London." 88 pages plus 5 pages of plates. Cover shows shelf and edge wear including rubbing and scratching, pale areas of discoloration to bottom part of front, ffep shows split to top quarter of gutter, some age darkening and rippling to textblock.
