Regarding the death on October 28th of Thomas Simpson Evans LLD FLS (1777-1818) aged 41, Mathematician, formerly Assistant Astronomer Royal to Dr Maskelyne. It would later become the Royal Naval Academy, under the patronage of William IV, Queen Victoria, and King Edward VII, educating members of the royal family through the 19th century. Author of 'The naval heroes of Great Britain', 1806; 'The British Neptune: or, a history of the achievements of the Royal Navy, from the earliest periods to the present time', 1807; and the invaluable reference work 'A New Universal Dictionary of the Marine', 1815, 1830.
