About This Item

London: Raphael Tuck and Sons. [1914]. First edition with these illustrations. First edition with these illustrations. Publisher's pictorial boards with titles in black on the brown cloth spine. Illustrated throughout with 12 colour plates and numerous black and white drawings throughout the text by Mabel Lucie Atwell. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with some wear to the corners and bumping to the spine. The boards are a little dusty. The contents, with a contemporary gift inscription on the front free endpaper, offsetting to the half title, faint spotting to the prelims and a few light fingermarks to the margins are otherwise clean throughout. An attractive example. A collection of Hans Christian Andersen's beloved fairy tales, illustrated by Mabel Lucie Attwell in her distinctive, cherubic style. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
