Red cloth with black lettering. Some light browning to endpapers, else internally clean. Dust jacket spine faded; shallow chipping at head of spine; a couple small holes in panels; in an archival mylar sleeve. Jacket illustration by Edson D. Bills, a commercial illustrator in San Francisco. 215 pages. A novel set in California, in a milieu of gold mining and San Francisco newspapermen, which pivots around encounters with a mysterious, elderly seer living in a cabin in the woods near Mt Shasta. A metaphysical story. Inscribed by Kelton to Murray Wade (1876-1961), a prominent cartoonist and journalist who had worked for the San Francisco Post, the San Francisco Examiner, and the Portland Telegram. Aryan Lewis Kelton (1892-1957) was a traveling lecturer in the 1920s and 1930s and claimed to be a high initiate of the Mt Shasta Lemurian Younger Brotherhood. He spoke on topics such as the True Principles of Mind, yoga, prosperity, health, psychology and the Mount Shasta Masters. He was also the author The Great Haddon and The Power of the Universe. Most of his lectures took place up and down the West Coast.
