London: Henry S. King, 1877. First edition. Hardcover. g+ to vg+. Octavo. 161pp. Contemporary blue calf with debossed gilt design and initials on the front cover. Spine with gilt lettering, stamped design and raised bands. All edges gilt. Marbled boards. The book is a first edition of Tennyson's narrative poem about the last Anglo-Saxon king of England, Harold Godwinson (Harold II). Name of previous owner in ink at the top of the front free endpaper. Binding with some bumping and rubbing to edges, corners and spine. Some scratches and smudging to covers. Interior with minor sporadic water staining throughout. Binding in good+, interior in very good+ condition.
