July 16, 1881 issue of Harper's Weekly. Newsprint, folio, 16 pp. Numerous engravings, including two after illustrations by Thomas Nast, then in his second stint with Harper's: A Nast cover portraying Chester Arthur as merely a shoe-shining servant of Roscoe Conkling, and a back back page print of the Postmaster General as a comet in the Star Route investigation. Original, complete. Full page+ illustrated article on comets: several engravings of comets, including two of Donati's, one each of Coggia's and Encke's, as well as one as seen by a Professor Draper on June 27, 1881, and one comparing several comets. Plenty of text with that. Mammoth two-page engraving of Rochester Cathedral [England], and a large 3/4 page engraving of an equestrian woman rider jumping; others. VG condition. Minor wear & tear, mostly to spine from being disbound. Minor toning. In protective sleeve. - G
