Very light jacket crinkling at top edge of spine panel with faint smudging along top edge of page block (age and handling related wear), else the page block is bright and square with jacket intact. Collector's note that all first printing points are present: Full number sequence "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1" and " 9/9 0/0 1 2 3 4" on the same line with the notations "Printed in the U.S.A. 37" and "First American Edition, October 1999" each stated on copyright page. The $19.95 price is intact on the front jacket flap with the code 51995 above smaller bar code line on the rear jacket panel. Dark green boards with embossed diamond quilt pattern, purple cloth on spine and orange end papers. The number "3" is present on the spine (this is the first book where the volume number in the series was added - the first printings for the two prior Harry Potter books did not have any volume numbers on their spines or jackets.) This copy shows minimal wear, with faint age and handling-related wear on the page block. The book is straight, the tips are sharp and spine is square without the usual lean from heavy handling. The jacket is complete without tears, price clipping or stains. Now iconic jacket illustration by Mary GrandPre with 23 interior illustrations.
