About This Item

Port Townsend: Process Meida, 2013. First English Language Edition. Hardcover. Small quarto. xx + 118pp. Bound in blue velvet-like material with color image embedded to front with gilt border. Spine titled in gilt. Limited to 418 signed and numbered copies and signed by Robert K. Siegel on a special translucent page bound in. Illustrated in color and black and white. A fine copy in a fine, red plush slipcase. A fantastic production. For the first time this classic work on a forgotten Arabian legend has been translated into English. This illustrated novel is presented as a “pictorial opera” of love, hashish, and tragedy in the time of Victorian erotica, and it contains the first known illustrations and descriptions of true hashish hallucinations. Introductory essays by Siegel detail the history of this curious work. In addition to the translated work, there are original German advertisements for the work, extra images, and more.
