Autographed on the title page by both authors, the book describes the Home's origins as a small orphanage and its eventual evolution into a state-sponsored home for handicapped and developmentally disabled children. Nunn's co-author, Martha Hulings, adds to this history her own personal recollections as a resident of the Home in its early orphanage years.
