About This Item
Agatha and Stephen Fassett lived at 24 Chestnut Street on Beacon Hill in Boston where Stephen Fassett maintained the Fassett Recording Studio. Sylvia Plath, Ted Hughes' wife, did two recordings with Fassett in 1958 and 1959 for the Woodberry Poetry Studio at Harvard,
Plath and Hughes were also personal friends of the Fassetts: in her Unabridged Journals (January 10, 1959) she described a visit: "Glimmer last night of pleasure, which slipped away. Agatha's top floor room the grey snow-light of evening coming, the tea, the enclosed feeling of peace, old carpets, old sofa, old smoothed chairs." Sagar and Tabor, A1
