Text block bumped, minor stain on spine, else clean and sound. INSCRIBED BY THE OWNER OF WAYSIDE (Hawthorne's house): "For / Mrs. Florence Hall Colgate / with the sincere regard of / Mrs. Daniel Lothrop / The Wayside Concord Mass. / August 14th 1908." Mrs. [Harriet] Daniel Lothrop was also known as Margaret Sidney, author of the Five Little Peppers series of children's books. BAL 8466.
