An 1883 edition in the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. All edges gilt. Bookplate to the front paste down. 8 plates and further illustrations accompanying the text, drawn by L. B. Humphrey and engraved by "Andrew". Collated complete. Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861) was a Victorian poet, popular in Britain and the United States for her poetry. This illustrated poem is based on Psalm 127, He Giveth his Beloved Sleep. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally very smart, with light bumping to the boards and extremities. Colour and gilt remain bright. Front hinge is splitting but still reasonably firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Very Good
