The first UK edition of this work, first published in the same year in the US under the title Their Heads are Green and Their Hands are Blue. A fascinating book recounting of the author's life and experiences in Morocco and travels through the Sahara desert as well as in other parts of the world including Mexico, Turkey, and Ceylon. Written by Paul Bowles, American expatriate composer and author, who lived most of his life in the Moroccan city of Tangier. Illustrated with photographic plates in black and white. Complete with unclipped dust wrapper.  In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear, minor bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities. Dust wrapper unclipped and sound, fairly chipped to extremities of wraps and spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. With photographic plates in black and white. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
