About This Item

Norman OK: University of Oklahoma Press, 1971. Hardcover. Near Fine in Good+ dust jacket. 348 pages. This book tells the story of the Fowler family's legacy (1830's to 1930's); they were predominantly known for being leading "experts" in phrenology ("character analysis based on the conformation of the skull"), but the author also explores the family members' influences on medical and social reform. Dust jacket rubbed along edges, has a couple small tears, and shows some light creasing/scuffing. Top part of the front cover is slightly faded. Dust jacket now in mylar protector.; 6 1/4 x 9 1/4
