About This Item

London: Heinemann, 1975. First UK edition. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. This is a correct first printing of the twelth and final part of Powell's most celebrated cycle, The Dance to the Music of Time. Book has one or two tiny brown spots to top edge and a previous owner's name to first page. Jacket is in almost perfect condition, with very slight soiling to spine and one minor rubbed spot to front cover, otherwise excellent.

Synopsis

Hearing Secret Harmonies is the final novel in Anthony Powell's twelve-volume masterpiece, A Dance to the Music of Time. It was published in 1975 to the relief of an audience that had grown steadily over the twenty-four years since the first book, A Question of Upbringing appeared in 1951. Completing his meditation upon the themes of time and will, the author recounts the narrative in the voice of a convincingly middle-aged Jenkins.
