Octavo (5.5" x 8.25"), brown cloth, gilt, with pictorial paste-on photo of a Japanese garden. 269pp. Thirty-one illustrations in duotone from photographs. Very good with light wear and sporadic foxing. Elizabeth Cooper wrote travel style novels which were early feminist accounts of women of other cultures. The book is illustrated with photos of views, women at work and ordinary life, as if it were a work of non-fiction travel.
