London: Constable and Company Ltd., 1919. GBS is noted for his brilliant use of language as well as his longevity; often considered the finest playwright of the XXth Century. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition, but part of a set: "XXVI 1913-1916" on the title page. The Playlets included are "O'Flaherty V.C.," "The Inca of Perusalem," "Augustus Does His Bit," and "Annajanska." Light green cloth binding with fore and bottom edges rough-cut. (Varies from single-volume printings which had TEG as well as rough-cuts). Clean text; xlvii; 266 pages, with two pages of publisher adverts in rear. Mild bumps, light soiling, spine a bit darkened. A solid copy. No dustwrapper. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket.
