About This Item

New York: Scribner, 1999 This is an unusual novel for King (1947-). It is composed of five connected 'chapters' that cover the period from 1960 to 1990. It is hard to explain but only someone with King's talent could make it work. Stated first edition with full number line. Blue paper boards with dark blue cloth at spine; red lettering on spine only. Binding is tight, square, clean and bright. Only flaw is an ink smear at top of front free end page. Unclipped dust jacket has no flaws other than minor bumping at top and bottom of spine. 522 pages.

Synopsis

Hearts in Atlantis (1999) is a collection of two novellas and three short stories by Stephen King, all connected to one another by recurring characters and taking place in roughly chronological order. The stories are subtle conveyances of the Baby Boomer generation, specifically King's view that this generation (to which he self-consciously belongs) failed to live up to their promise and ideals.
