About This Item

Morristown, New Jersey: Privately Published, 2000. As New -- book and dust jacket are in perfect condition. A gorgeous, pristine copy -- fresh and crisp. Obviously never read. Bright, shiny, clean, square, tight, and unmarked. Sharp corners. NO owner's name or bookplate. NO remainder mark. NOT a book club edition. The Dust Jacket is NOT price clipped ($19.95). No chips. No tears. No creases. No rubbing. Captivating true accounts of a cave adventure; a man on a kidney machine and the miraculous outcome; an unusual motorcycle and boat accident; a sick baby with a metabolic disorder; a Gulf War miracle; New York Hasidic Jews; and many other anecdotes. The people described are mostly Jewish, but the themes are inspirational and universal, of interest to Jews and non-Jews alike. Illustrated with a few photographs. Has a 29-page glossary of Yiddish and Hebrew terms and expressions. Original blue boards. From the Dust Jacket: "Whether writing about Blanton, his anatomy class partner in Tennessee, or about Beryl, the little Hasidic boy run over by a taxi driver in New York, Jacobs has his eyes -- and our attention -- riveted on what is precious in human events." . First Edition. Hardcover. As New condition/As New dust jacket. 8vo. 208pp. .

About About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
