Nearly fine copy in very good dust jacket. 1938. 1st. hardcover. 8vo, 393 pp., Inscribed & signed by the author to "the first lady of radio", Mary Margaret McBride in 1943, Saerchinger was an early radio journalist, the first to broadcast transatlantic reports to the USA from Europe. He was succeeded by Edward Murrow. Mary Margaret McBride had her radio show from 1934 until 1960 and also had an early, if unsuccessful, stint in TV in 1948; a biography was published in 2005 .
