About This Item

San Francisco: Del Monte Properties Company, 1957 First and only edition. Thin quarto. 8pp., printed on rectos only. Thin light green boards, gilt. A fine copy. A printed memorial tribute commemorating the life of Herbert Fleishhacker of San Francisco, founder of the San Francisco zoo, the adjacent Fleishhacker Swimming Pool, and one of the original organizers and Director of the Del Monte Properties Company since 1919. The final leaf is signed by the Secretary of Del Monte Properties Company, Paul Winslow, along with the official embossed seal of the company. The Resolution is accompanied by a typed letter, signed by Winslow to Mrs. Fleishhacker: "...I am enclosing a copy of a resolution adopted by the Board of Directors of the Del Monte Properties Company at their meeting in San Francisco on April 10, 1957. I should like to add my own tribute. I have never known a finer or more understanding man, and while knowing him only the past twenty-five years, I have missed him and his wise counsel greatly. He was most lovable.".
