Incredible first edition copy of this collection containing supernatural/vampire stories from Wharton who won the Pulitzer for her classic "Age of Innocence" in 1921, becoming the first woman to do so. Bleiler Guide to Supernatural Fiction, 1687. Fine condition with beautiful moiré patterned blue boards with gold stamped lettering showing little to no wear. Rough trimmed page block shows light tanning from age. Correct first printing with "(1)" below text on pg 325, as per Currey. Jacket is wonderfully preserved with very minimal wear to edges, spine ends, and corners, upper rear corner shows very small chip, with spine lightly faded, else fine.
