Description: Panoramic dust jacket art by Peter Parnall, after an original oil painting by Phoebe Donovan. A tale of romance, set in Ireland in the early 1880s, this tells of a young Irish American -- a proper Bostonian -- who is the heir apparent to the title and estate of an Irish great-uncle he has never seen. In the course of traveling to Dublin, Peter Bradford falls in love with a beautiful French girl. His upbringing has not prepared him for the turbulent land and the responsibilities he must assume, all the while pursuing his ardent courtship. Rear gutter code ''40J'' indicates a printing date of October, 1968.
