Building things on the grand scale,none was grander than the magnificent palace/fortress - he constructed - named after himself. Unreconstructed remains are in amazing condition - give evidence to the grand style in which he lived. Herodian Quarter was exposed after the Six-Day War, during excavations in the area.the remains of six houses from the Herodian period that were excavated in 1967. ...- Museum sits - an ancient upscale neighborhood, built during the reign of King Herod in Jerusalem. Among the discoveries in this place are the houses of the Kohanim who served in the Second Temple, spectacular mosaics - artwork, lounges for hosting family- friends, ancient household utensils, ritual immersion baths, and more. ....
