Grey hardcover with title in gilt on spine. Condition: Very good, binding sound. Dustjacket condition: Very good, with just a hint of shelfwear. Price-clipped. 64pp. Beautifully illustrated with b/w drawings by Robin Jaques (1920-1995). This book is a collection of poems of heroes and heroines as diverse as Boadicea, Florence Nightingale and Sir Francis Drake. It was a sequel to the Farjeon's collection of poems about the English monarchs entitled "Kings and Queens"..
