John Wood was a popular lecturer on many subjects and wrote many books on natural history" (Harding). Some wear to edges of a few leaves; foxing to endpapers and preliminaries. Monograph of Reid's early inspirations translated in English on the verso and French on recto, followed by 12 pages of his landscape paintings focusing on trees. These are oil on canvas, painted en plein air. The cover has a minor sticker scar in top right corner and the covers are saddle stitched.
