About This Item

London: The Book Club, 1956 . Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good Indeed. 8" by 5.5". None. A bright copy of the first Book Club edition of this thrilling Agatha Christie murder mystery, featuring Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. The first impression of the first Book Club edition, published one year after the true first edition. In the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper.Set in a student hostel, Hercule Poirot investigates a series of petty thefts. Shortly after he identifies the culprit, she is found murdered, the first in a series of suspicious deaths.A lovely copy of a classic Christie title. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Bumping to spine tail, otherwise externally excellent. Spotting to fore edge of text block. Minor loss to dust wrapper spine tail, with light chipping to back strip head. Minor closed tears to wrap head. Spotting to rear wrap, and reverse of dust wrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally clean and bright, with only the odd spot. Very Good Indeed
