About This Item

Garden City, NJ: Crime Club / Doubleday, Doran & Co, 1933. Very Good/Good. Garden City, NJ: Crime Club / Doubleday, Doran & Co., 1933. Stated First Edition. Octavo; 300 pp. Dust jacket with original $2.00 price intact; illustration by Edwin Georgi. Black cloth binding with illustration and text stamped in bright red/orange. Unusual cover art -- an image of a man with a gun peering around a door -- wraps from spine to front. Deckled edges. Red/orange top stain.

Dust jacket shows edgewear and rubbing, with chipping at corners and spine ends (with loss to "The" at head), a number of shallow tears along edges with clear tape repair to interior, and a dampstain down spine extending onto front panel, not affecting the cloth beneath. Slight lean to boards. Binding shaken with linen showing through front hinge, text block feels secure. Top stain faded. Pages are clean and unmarked.
