Beautiful 'vellum' cloth binding with fine illus. cover with titles and design in gilt and black with a double ruled gilt border with bevelled edges. Title-page, dedication, preface and appendix. [nb a supplement was pub. three years later in 1879]. Blank inter-leaved pages throughout for the owner to add cuttings etc. Armorial bookplate 'F. Arthur Wadsworth pasted to inside the front board.
