Paris: Crette & Vernant, 1926. Limited. hardcover. near fine. Llano-Florez. Illustrated with in-text etchings by Llano-Florez in Art Deco style, and with two extra suites of the illustrations bound at rear (1 on china, 1 on Japon with etched initials included); a third extra copy of the frontispiece signed by the artist in pencil is also bound-in. Thick 4to, bound by George Crette (signed "Crette succ. de Marius Michel") in full crushed maroon morocco -- rather plain on the exterior, but with elaborate doublures of tan morocco with a centered square maroon morocco onlay and bands on alternating black morocco and reptile skin triangles at the head and foot, silk linings, marbled flyleaves; original wrappers bound in. Paris: Crette & Vernant, 1926. Limited edition, published on the second anniversary of his death. Some rubbing to extremes of binding and scattered foxing to text and plates, still a near fine copy of this unusual Art Deco production.<BR> <BR> From a total edition of 370, this is number XII of only XX copies on Japon Imperial with 2 extra suites of illustrations. Also included is a tipped-in 1 page autograph letter signed by France, and a 4 page autograph letter (an assessment of the book) by France's friend and protege Cluade Aveline.<br/> <br/>
