Profusely illustrated. First printing of the first edition--all subsequent printings included ads that were not in this edition. The hand-colored folding map of Virginia is present. Also present is a hand-colored engraved frontispiece of the "Surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown," that is missing in many copies of the book. [Howes, U.S.iana 707] Rebound in period-appropriate full brown leather, with red leather title patch and black tooling. As the attached photo indicates, the original map is in very good condition.
