London: A. Strahan and T. Cadell, 1787. Book. Good. Hardcover. Second Edition. 8vo (13 X 21cm). pp. vol. I: xii, 515, engraved frontispiece plate, fold out map; vol. II: viii, 413, fold out map; and vol. III: viii, 522; vol. IV: vii 452, complete index. Finely bound in brown calf, title and vol. no. labels to the spines (number label missing to vol. III), spines with six gilt decorated compartments. Bindings good with some general wear, vol. 1 hinges sound with a little superficial cracking, joints with a little cracking to top and bottom of the spine, all other volumes sound, corners a little worn and rounded. Contents clean and tight, private bookplate to the front pastedowns belonging to John Clayton, no inscriptions, some spotting to first few pages, majority of text block very clean and unmarked, no inscriptions. A good set..
