London: John Murray, 1858. First Edition . Hardcover. No Jacket. Two volumes, very good in original cloth binding. Slight loss at head of backstrip in both volumes, spines are darkened. Internally nice, with tight hinges and almost no foxing. Volume I covers Egyptian, Assyrian, and Greek; with numerous illustrations (some in color); 415 pages. Volume II covers Greek, Etruscan, and Roman, with numerous illustrations (some in color), appendices, and an index; 437 pages. Laid in is an elaborate London bookseller's invoice dated April 29. 1867 for the set.
